So often as Fitness Professionals, we are asked for nutritional advice by clients. This QCF accredited YMCA Awards course will give you as an instructor/teacher, the confidence to support your clients and class participants with nutritional goals as well as help develop your personal awareness of healthy eating and nutrition for exercise.
Develop your skills and knowledge with this distance learning course that you can fit around your busy schedule and give you the qualification to help motivate you clients towards their fitness goals.
The aim of this unit is to provide you with basic and appropriate nutritional advice, recommend sensible eating strategies, modify recipes and diets for a variety of needs. On completion of the unit you will have demonstrated how to give advice on effective long-term fat/weight loss and/or healthy eating, based on sound scientific principles. You will not need any prerequisites to do this course and it could be an add on for any fitness instructor wanting to add nutritional advice for their clients.
This unit is studied through blended learning. Students will receive their manuals, online learning and worksheets a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the Nutrition and Weight Management Course starting.
The Nutrition Unit has 2 assessments:
Assessment 1 – Case Study
You will be expected to apply your newly acquired knowledge to design nutritional plans to meet the chosen individuals needs and wants.
Assessment 2 – Theory Paper
A multiple choice written theory test of the underpinning knowledge.
This exam is externally set and assessed by YMCA Awards and consists of 40 questions.
