This course will give you an understanding of the Anatomy and Physiology throughout and after pregnancy in relation to exercise and pregnancy covering: 1st Trimester, 2nd Trimester, 3rd Trimester, Pre-natal check, Screening and Contra-indications to Exercise. We will look at the changing body and how that relates to exercise, postnatal considerations for exercise, disorders and complications and Health and Safety considerations within the fitness class or session environment. The course will cover: ante and postnatal exercise, body positioning, balance and posture, dynamic movements and flowing moves, adaptation and alternatives for exercise programming.

This qualification is for those of you wishing to run individual or group sessions for ante/post natal participants. This course includes 6 weeks distance learning prior to commencement for your Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology.

The pre-requisites for this qualification is a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or an equivalent qualification recognised by the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

Once you have completed the 6 weeks distance learning of Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology, you will then attend a 4 day practical course in planning, teaching and evaluating an antenatal session in the context of Gym, Pilates or Exercise to Music, finishing with an assessment of you teaching a session.
